1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Katta.lk ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, all applicable laws and regulations in Sri Lanka, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws.

2. User Accounts
  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on Katta.lk
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our terms
3. Classified Ads Posting Rules

When posting ads on Katta.lk, you agree to the following:

  • Ads must be posted in the appropriate category (vehicles, property, electronics, etc.)
  • You may not post duplicate ads for the same item/service
  • All ads must comply with Sri Lankan laws and regulations
  • Prohibited items include but are not limited to: illegal substances, counterfeit goods, weapons
  • You must own or have legal rights to sell the advertised items
4. User Responsibilities
  • You are solely responsible for the content of your ads and interactions with other users
  • Katta.lk acts only as a platform and is not involved in actual transactions between users
  • You must exercise caution when meeting with potential buyers/sellers
  • We recommend completing transactions in safe, public locations
5. Content Ownership and License
  • You retain ownership of any content you post on Katta.lk
  • By posting content, you grant Katta.lk a worldwide, non-exclusive license to display and distribute your content
  • We may remove any content that violates our terms without notice
6. Prohibited Activities

When using Katta.lk, you agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose or activity
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the platform without permission
7. Fees and Payments
  • Basic ad posting is currently free on Katta.lk
  • We reserve the right to introduce premium services with associated fees
  • All fees will be clearly communicated before you incur any charges
8. Limitation of Liability

Katta.lk shall not be liable for:

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from use of the platform
  • The quality, safety, or legality of items advertised
  • The truth or accuracy of listings
  • The ability of sellers to sell items or buyers to pay for items
9. Dispute Resolution
  • Any disputes arising from use of Katta.lk shall be governed by Sri Lankan law
  • Disputes shall be resolved through negotiation, mediation, or in the courts of Sri Lanka
  • Katta.lk is not responsible for resolving disputes between users
10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of Katta.lk after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
